Terms of Service

Version 1, effective

Who we are

Many Oars (manyoars.com) is operated by Switchyard Software Company, which does business as Many Oars. “You” means the developer who creates a Many Oars account. These Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy are one document set with one version number, shown at the top of each. You accept the set when you sign up. When we make a material change we raise the version, and until you accept the new version the platform may refuse your requests.

What Many Oars does

Many Oars lets a software developer deploy an AI agent, API or MCP server and charge that agent’s customers. We host and meter your agent and create each customer charge on your behalf. Many Oars is pre-launch: design partners start first, and charges stay in test mode until live charges open.

Eligibility: 18 or older

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Many Oars account, and by signing up you confirm that you are. Whether developers must be businesses or be located in the United States: To be confirmed by counsel.

Your agent and your customers

You are responsible for your agent, API or MCP server and for what it does. You are responsible for your customers: the terms you offer them, the support you give them, and refunds and disputes on the charges made for you. Your agent must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, including in what your customers do through it. Whether Many Oars is a party to, or a facilitator of, your sales for tax purposes, and who collects and remits sales tax and VAT on them: To be confirmed by counsel.

Payments and Stripe

Every customer payment is a Stripe Connect direct charge. We create it on your own Stripe account; the money settles in your Stripe balance, not ours. Stripe bills fees to, and bears losses of, your account, pays you out and issues your 1099-K. Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement governs payments. We hold no customer funds, except for compute top-ups (see Compute credits). How the law describes our role in these payments: To be confirmed by counsel.

Fees

Many Oars charges 250 bps (2.5%) of each customer charge, collected as a Stripe application fee on that charge. The fee is waived on your first $1,000 of gross revenue (the fee holiday). Stripe’s own fees are separate and billed by Stripe. Notice for fee changes, and tax on our fee: To be confirmed by counsel.

Compute credits

Separately from your customers’ payments, you buy compute top-ups from us to run your agent. You pay us for them on our own Stripe account, and for those sales we are the merchant of record. Your agent’s compute use draws the credit down. A new developer may receive a promotional compute starter grant. Its amount and conditions, expiry, refund and breakage terms for compute credit, and tax on top-ups: To be confirmed by counsel.

Customer credit packs

Your customers can buy prepaid credit packs from you. Each pack is one direct charge on your Stripe account, and we track each call to your agent against the pack. Expiry, refund and breakage terms, and who holds any obligation for unused balances: To be confirmed by counsel.

Customers in the United States only

At launch, Many Oars sells only to end customers in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. US territories are excluded until counsel adds them. Before a charge is created the platform checks the customer’s stated country and state, billing address and card-issuing country, and it refuses the charge unless all of them say United States.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend an agent or your account if it breaks the Acceptable Use Policy, if it puts the platform, our hosting provider or Stripe at risk, or to act on an abuse report. Compute credit and customer packs outstanding at suspension or shutdown, notice to you, appeal, and termination by either side: To be confirmed by counsel.

Changes to these documents

We post changes here and show the new version number and effective date at the top. A material change needs your acceptance of the new version. The notice period for changes: To be confirmed by counsel.

Liability, governing law and disputes

Warranty disclaimers, limits on liability, indemnity, governing law, venue and dispute resolution: To be confirmed by counsel.
