Privacy Policy
Version 1, effective
Who we are
Many Oars (manyoars.com) is operated by Switchyard Software Company, which does business as Many Oars and is responsible for the information collected here. This policy is one document set with the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.
Information we collect
- Waitlist visitors: the details listed under Waitlist sign-up.
- Developers: your account email, and which version of these documents you accepted and when.
- Payments: for the United States check described in the Terms of Service we receive the customer’s stated country and state, billing address and the card’s issuing country.
- Usage: we meter each call to a developer’s agent against the credit pack that pays for it.
Whether we or the developer is responsible for the information of a developer’s customers: To be confirmed by counsel.
Waitlist sign-up
When you join the Many Oars waitlist we store:
- your email address
- the UTM campaign tags on the link you followed
- the site that referred you
- the page you landed on
- the time of your first visit
- your country (from Cloudflare)
- a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself)
- the time you signed up
We do not store your raw IP address. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots.
How we use information
To contact you about Many Oars, to see how people find us, to run the service and bill for it, and to protect the site and the service from abuse.
Subprocessors
We share information with these providers to run Many Oars:
- Microsoft Azure: Cloud hosting for the Many Oars platform.
- Fly.io: Runs developers’ agents.
- Stripe: Payment processing and developer payouts.
- WorkOS: Authentication for the customers of developers’ agents.
- Resend: Sends email on behalf of Many Oars.
- Cloudflare: DNS, hosting of this website, Turnstile bot checks and Web Analytics.
- Google Workspace: Email for our support, abuse and privacy addresses.
- PostHog: Product analytics (United States): counts visits to this website and the steps visitors take, under a random identifier and never your email address. It also receives your IP address and browser details when your browser contacts it.
Cookies
We use two first-party cookies, and none for advertising. aor_attr remembers the
campaign, referrer, landing page and time of your first visit so that, if you join the waitlist, we
can record how you found us. It is functional and expires on its own.
ph_<project token>_posthog holds a random identifier for your browser and your visit, so we can
count visits and the steps visitors take and, if you later create a Many Oars account, connect that
history to it. It lasts 365 days and is shared with app.manyoars.com. A copy of
the identifier is also kept in your browser’s local storage. The cookie and the copy never hold your
email address.
Do Not Track signals
We do not track you across other websites, and we do not change how the site behaves in response to a Do Not Track signal.
Other parties that collect information
When your browser loads this site it contacts Cloudflare (Turnstile and Web Analytics) and Google Fonts, which receive your IP address and browser details under their own policies. It also contacts PostHog (product analytics), which receives them for us as a subprocessor. We allow no advertising or other third-party tracking on the site. Whether that collection counts as tracking across websites: To be confirmed by counsel.
Reviewing, correcting and deleting your information
To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email privacy@manyoars.com.
Retention
We keep a waitlist entry for 12 months after our last contact with that person, then delete it. Anyone can ask for deletion sooner at privacy@manyoars.com.
We keep developer and customer account data while the account is open, and delete it within 30 days of closure or on request. We keep charge, payout and invoice records for 7 years, because tax and accounting law requires it. We keep the records of which version of these documents a developer accepted for 7 years too. We keep server logs for 90 days.
Changes to this policy
We post changes here and show the new version number and effective date at the top. A material change needs your acceptance of the new version at your next sign-in.
